Regulars is a Houston-only service that seats small groups of people together and tries to make the same table meet again. To do that we have to know a little about you. This page lists what that actually is — not a category summary, the real fields.
When you join the waitlist: your email address, and whichever of these you choose to give — first name, your part of town, the kind of thing you’d leave the house for, and, if you raise your hand to host, your idea for what you’d host. We also store a referral code for you, the code of whoever referred you if you arrived on someone’s link, and the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) and landing page from the link you came in on.
When you fill in your profile: the ten questions on your dashboard. That covers your first name, age band, neighborhood, how far you’ll travel, how long you’ve been in Houston, which nights you’re free, six preference sliders, your interests, two free-text answers, any social handles you add, and — this is the sensitive one — your dietary requirements and allergies.
We ask about allergies for one reason: we pick the venue, so we need to know you can eat there. It is health-related information and we treat it that way. If you would rather not tell us, leave it blank — the question is optional and nothing else about your account changes. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it for anything but seating you somewhere you can actually eat.
Technical: a few cookies (below), and standard request logs kept by our hosting and database providers.
We set no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. There are four, all first-party, and all but one strictly necessary:
While you are part-way through the profile questions, the answers to the step you’re on are also kept in your own browser’s local storage so a closed tab doesn’t lose them. That never leaves your device, and it is cleared as soon as the step saves.
Your profile answers are readable by you and by us. They are not visible to other members, and the database enforces that rather than trusting our code to remember: every row is locked to the account that owns it.
We use a small number of processors to run the service: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Cloudflare Turnstile (checking that a form submission came from a person). They process data on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
If you are seated at a table, the other people there will see your first name. Anything else about you is yours to share in person.
Waitlist and profile records stay until you ask us to delete them, or until the account has been dormant for two years. Ask and it goes — see below.
Email hello@regularshtx.com and we will, within 30 days: send you a copy of everything we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete your account and its data outright. You can also edit every profile answer yourself from your dashboard at any time. You do not need to give a reason, and asking costs you nothing.
Depending on where you live you may have these rights by law — in Texas, under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. We would rather just honour them for everyone than check.
Regulars is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, email hello@regularshtx.com and we will remove the account.
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is material, we will email people on the list rather than hoping they re-read this page.
